Of particular interest to me are those enclosed and emerging forms--found so abundantly in botanical life--those crossroads where one form emerges from another, or is disclosed, or partly disclosed, by another? Examples of this are the section of a seed or its pod, where one form encloses another. In the same way leaves, petals, and sepals emerge from stems or other plant forms, the sensual parallel in human form follows "naturally." The antecedent forms here can also be found in human form. Botanical, organic and human forms are represented in my work.

I use controlled tearing and rugged overlapping techniques, particularly over the skin of my artworks. In this way the artwork alludes to emergence, to change, and to coming into being through parturient and growth. It is through clay that I find the most complete way of expressing myself.
